Farmers markets have long been places to gather and build community. However, this season we must physically distance and resist the urge to linger and socialize. We each have a critical role to play to slow down the spread of COVID-19.
In order to accommodate physical distancing requirements and help keep our community safe, the Northeast Farmers Market is suspending activities where people gather, which includes children's programming.
We hope to continue this fun tradition in 2021. Thank you for understanding.
One of our most successful community engagements has been our at-market children's programming. Organized by volunteers, our weekly Children's Tent activities are educational, market-related, and just plain fun. They are the highlight of the morning for many families and for kids of all ages.
Power of Produce Club
In order to accommodate physical distancing requirements and help keep our community safe, the Northeast Farmers Market is canceling activities where people gather, which includes the PoP Club.
We are excited to continue the free kids program at the Northeast Farmers Market: Power of Produce Club (PoP Club!
Each child between the ages of 4 through 12 participating in the program will receive a $2 market token to be spent (by kids) on fresh produce. Kids will receive their token once per market. They can choose to spend it on their own locally grown produce, or save their token for a future market day.
The program offers a chance for children to explore the farmers market and learn about the different varieties of fruits and vegetables, while also learning about how food is grown, by connecting them with local farmers.
Registration and check-in will be located at the market Information Booth. The program will be open July through August, 2021.
We hope to see you there!
