Northeast Farmers Market  - COVID-19 Response

Farmers markets are considered essential grocery providers by the State of Minnesota. They are a vital part of our food supply and essential to our farmers. We plan to remain open and are closely following guidance from the CDC, Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

Farmers markets have long been places to gather and build community. However, this season we must physically distance and resist the urge to linger and socialize. We each have a critical role to play to slow down the spread of COVID-19.

This season, we have made the following changes to keep our community safe.

Market set up and procedures:

  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly

  • Create a border around the market with one entrance & exit

  • If necessary, limit the number of customers in the market at one time

  • Widen aisles and add space between vendor stall

  • Encourage no-touch transactions

  • Provide hand washing stations and hand sanitizer

  • Staff, vendors and customers are required to wear masks and frequently wash/sanitize their hands

  • Cancel market events: food and drink sampling, educational events, cooking demos, kids activities

Market Rules:

  • No pets

  • No public restroom during the winter market season

  • Stay home if you or someone in your home is sick

  • Limit shoppers; shop alone, if possible

  • Wear a mask or face covering

  • Wash or sanitize your hands frequently

  • Maintain 6' distance between you and others

  • Shop efficiently and do not congregate

  • Let vendors assist you; do not touch product

  • No drinking or eating onsite. All food and drinks will be served to-go

There has never been a more important time to buy local and contribute to a healthy local food economy. Thank you for your support, patience and understanding during this quickly evolving time.
